Hon. Cuthbert Simphiwe Ncube is currently serving as a distinguished South African Tourism Executive and Entrepreneur, bringing over 25 years of specialized experience to the global stage. He is operating as the Executive Chairman of the African Tourism Board (ATB), a role he has held since the organization’s inception in 2019. In this capacity, he is continuously leveraging strategic industry relationships to unify African tourism efforts and position the continent as a premier global destination. Known in professional circles as “the Tourism Portfolio Whisperer,” he is consistently producing productive, long-lasting results and leaving an everlasting footprint on the African continent.
Throughout his career, he has been expanding his academic and professional horizons, holding a Master of Science (MSc) degree alongside a Masters in Tourism and Hospitality Management. His educational journey includes ongoing engagement with prestigious institutions such as the University of Witwatersrand, the University of Pretoria, and London Business School, where he has studied fields ranging from Commercial Law and Project Management to Corporate Governance.
On the entrepreneurial front, he is managing Kwela Fleet Management, a reputable car hire and chauffeur services company he established in 2000. He is also overseeing Golden Feathers, a four-star lodge in Cape Town, which marked his successful diversification into the hospitality industry. Beyond his corporate interests, he is actively contributing to the sector as the Director of Golf Tourism South Africa. He is frequently appearing as a guest speaker and thought leader at high-level international conferences, including recent engagements in Malawi, Russia, and Mozambique.
His leadership extends to various advisory roles, where he is currently guiding organizations like the International Tourism Investment Company (ITIC) and the African Association of Women in Tourism. While navigating the many challenges of the industry—such as climate change and economic instability—he remains dedicated to promoting responsible and sustainable tourism for Africa’s economic growth. In his personal life, he is maintaining a balance by pursuing his passions as an avid music lover and dedicated gardener.
